Ferreira missed the UFC's middleweight limit, so he will give 20 percent of his purse to Vettori. The latter will take on the risk of fighting a heavier Ferreira and going 1-2 in 2025 instead of 0-3.

Vettori lost to Brendan Allen via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC 318 on Saturday in New Orleans.

Vettori continues to show all-world toughness, in addition to having his moments offensively, but he also continues to lose fights at an alarming rate. He got off to a very rough start here, getting his nose shattered by an Allen punch in the opening frame. Vettori actually did a decent job of working himself back into the fight and remaining competitive, but he clearly didn't do enough to win when all was said and done. One positive is that despite the recent struggles, Vettori's durability remains elite. He's never been finished in 29 professional fights. Unfortunately, the 31-year-old Italian has lost three straight, and four of his last five, and has just a single win dating back to October 2021. On the bright side, he'll take home an extra $50,000 here after this back-and-forth affair was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Vettori got the better of Dolidze when the two first fought in a three-round fight at UFC 286 in March 2023, but he really struggled on this evening, particularly in the latter stages of the fight. Known as a cardio warrior capable of pumping out a ton of volume on the feet, Marvin closed with 112 total strikes landed. Not a bad number, but certainly not great in comparison to Dolidze's 141. Vettori got badly outworked in Rounds 4 and 5, something were not used to seeing from him. In fact, outside of one huge Round 2 flurry, he really struggled to get on track all evening. Now 31 years old, Marvin is 1-3 in his past four fights, with the lone victory during that stretch coming against Dolidze. Vettori is essentially done in terms of impacting the title picture at 185 pounds.
